Window Shopping
One of my favorite things about summer is flea markets. I am always amazed at what some people will sell and others will buy. Last summer I had the good fortune of stumbling upon someone selling bones. Yes, BONES! No, I didn't buy any. Among the quirky junk is some quirky treasure. A store recently opened up in Rockford that is full of the quirky treasures and I am dying to take a road trip to check it out. The owner has impeccable taste and the displays are lovely. You can check out her blog for store information. Now for a little window shopping! Here are some photos of Urban Farmgirl.

Farmhouse Finds: Laundry
I love doing laundry in the Spring. I mean I LOVE it. I love sorting laundry as a sweet-scented breeze comes in through the screen door. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping. I love the way the linens feel after drying on the line. The only thing that would make it better is if the birds would hand me clothespins like they help Cinderella or Snow White. That's probably not going to happen, but I would settle for some of these pretty little things for the laundry room.

Farmhouse Finds: Dining
You know those people who have a very formal dining room that the kids are banned from and they only use it for special occasions? We are not those people. We eat in our dining room every single day. We also use our table to do homework, pay bills, chat with visitors, and even play with playdough. Here are my picks for a modern farmhouse dining room.
These colorful mugs are a modern take on the original version.
White dishes always look fantastic for any occasion!
I love the simple look and straight back of these chairs and the price is great.
A painted cabinet pairs perfectly with the table and red happens to be my favorite color.

Farmhouse Finds: Bath
When my husband and I were house shopping, most of the houses in our price range had one lonely bathroom. Wait...I should be honest. The good houses had one lonely bathroom. We actually looked at a house that literally had a sink in a closet that they considered a bathroom. I still shudder when I think about it. Our house has three bathrooms which made us feel filthy rich. However, we are not filthy rich and do not have a housekeeping service to clean those three bathrooms. That's alright. When it is time to clean, I just think about that sink in the closet and I feel better. Here are some finds for today's farmhouse bath.

Farmhouse Finds: Kitchen
My mother-in-law probably spends about 15 hours a day in the kitchen. No matter what time of day it is, delicious smells are luring family and friends to sit down at the kitchen table for an apple turnover and some conversation. There is something very comforting about the slap of the screen door, the sound of a boiling pot on the stove and the dog curled up at your feet. It feels like home. Here are a few things to bring a little "modern country" to your kitchen.
